I hope by answering these common questions that potential Revit LT users would ask assists these users to make a more informed purchasing decision. Although it is a bit limited you can produce a basic sun study.
In the screenshot below I set up the View to show the sun angles per date time and place.
I can also generate Gross Area plans and schedules. I then could add them together to get total areas. I can add Room objects inside the rooms and add these Room areas in a schedule. I have also exported these realistic views to an Image file to show the quality Revit LT can produce. To explain I captured a screenshot from Revit LT software showing exterior and interior view at the top and then the equivalent Realistic Mode View at the bottom. This Realistic Mode is actually very good, and I think, good enough for the average user. The answer is that you cannot do on-PC rendering but you can do Cloud Rendering and Revit 2021 has an enhanced Realistic View. The Questions: Can Revit LT do Rendering? I hope this will change for future releases as I think D5 is amazing.I recently had been asked a couple of questions in relation to Revit LT features and if you can do certain tasks with Revit LT. The suggestion of using a mix of both Enscape and D5 in the office is also a cause of contention. It is currently not considered as any whiff of a workflow problem (eg: having to use ‘middle man’ software or file converters) rules out switching from a reliable software to another. Getting every employee to use D5 would be a huge selling point and incentive to switch from Enscape. Currently, the office will not deviate away from Enscape even though only 2 employees out of 8 have access. I am sure many other Architectural firms do the same thing to keep software costs as low as possible. It is just too expensive to pay for Full Revit licenses for each employee. I work for a small Architectural firm that uses a mix of both Full Revit and Revit LT (I believe it is currently the dominating BIM software in the world). I am hopeful that one day this would be possible. dae export and if D5 allowed the import of that. Ideally, it would be wonderful if Autodesk would consider a. fbx export does not allow for smooth curves. fbx files exported from Revit just fine, however.
